About Lizzie

Hello, I’m Lizzie! I have over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and seniors. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma informed therapy. I provide teletherapy and in-person therapy for RI residents.

I started my career with the working elderly and developmentally disabled adults- in teaching and case management positions. Over the years, I’ve worked as a hospice and home care social worker, and as a community based therapist; I’ve also made many home visits, visited clients in schools, nursing homes and long-term care facilities. I also started a nonprofit to support the psychosocial needs of developmentally disabled adults. I completed my internships as a school social worker and adoption/ foster care social worker These experiences have helped me to gain insight and knowledge regarding the challenges that individuals and families have throughout the various life stages.

My values include honesty, compassion, kindness, and respect for ourselves, others and the earth; and personal growth. Having been raised in a military family, we learned many of these values and to be tolerant, and respectful of others’ differences and opinions; and to adapt to changes in our family life and our world. As an adult, I have come to realize the importance of these values, I strive to live by them; and to build my practice around them.

I enjoy reading, and attending webinars & seminars- there is always something new to learn in the therapy world! Recently I have focused my learning on DBT, play therapy, and trauma therapy- which are of great interest to me. I enjoy collaborating with other providers to gain insight into a client’s situation (while respecting their confidentiality).

I’m excited to get to know you!

My goal is to put myself out of business- I want to help you to “graduate” from therapy. Together we will build a toolbox full of resources that you can draw on throughout your life, as you face new challenges; so that you can be your best self, and live your best life.
